Dagens Industri, paid us a visit and did a story about our high-tech Ski Factory, our latest investments and our history. Dagens Industri (DI) is the leading business magazine in Scandinavia.
Åre Skidfabrik, which is Scandinavia’s only alpine ski factory, invests for the future. In 2020 we made the single largest investment in our 40-year history. This consists of an significant extension with increased production area, an energy efficiency solution with recycling of the production’s excess heat, and two new machines for increased efficiency and even higher quality of the skis. This makes Åre Skidfabrik one of the world’s most modern ski factories. See the video reportage by Dagens Industri below for a look at our production.

Video reportage with CEO Carl Geijer from Dagens Industri’s visit at the Åre Skidfabrik!
Åre Skidfabrik has been manufacturing skis and snowboards since 1981 and it’s the only alpine ski factory in Scandinavia. With several large investments in machinery, Åre Skidfabrik is today one of the most modern ski production facilities in Europe. We manufacture skis for our own award-winning brand Extrem Skis, several other external ski brands. All skis are made with 100 % renewable energ from local hydro power stations.
Speed of the Gazelle
Åre Skidfabrik is moving fast and has been selected as a DI Gasell. Dagens Industri (DI) is the largest business magazine in Scandinavia and appoints the fastest growing companies in Sweden as Gazelle companies. Less than 1% of Sweden’s limited companies (aktiebolag) meet the requirements to be called Gazelle companies.
For a company to be able to qualify for the Gazelle Competition this year, sales must have doubled during the period 2016-2019. The overall operating profit also have to be positive during the same period of time. Our DI Gasell appointment has been made possible by the continuous growth of Extrem Skis, and the other fantastic ski brands we also produce skis for at Åre Skidfabrik.
